There are some spectacular views throughout New York City, but taking in The Big Apple all at once can only be done in a few places. When people look at the skyline of NYC there are a couple of buildings that literally stand above the rest.
How many times have you looked at it? So many New Yorkers have never been to the top and seen their city from one of the World’s most recognized buildings. You will learn about the history and importance of the Empire State Building. You can pose in King Kong’s hand and for a fee, you can go into the mast and see NYC from 1,250 feet in the air.
The view just walking into the lobby is pretty impressive, but once you get in the Sky Shuttle, it will sweep you up 850 feet in less than a minute. There are theatres with free shows, and one gives you the tradition behind the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree. You will find 3 floors from which you can view the city, either indoors or outdoors, each giving you spectacular views.
The newest of the four buildings, Edge is the highest outdoor sky deck in the Western Hemisphere. It offers glass floors, cantilevered glass walls that you can lay on, and a 52-second elevator ride. It has the most spectacular views of New York Harbour, George Washington Bridge, and the great lady herself, the Statue of Liberty, from over 1,100 feet up.
One World Trade Center is the tallest building in America and was built as a tribute to the spirit and strength of the people of NYC, after the fall of the Twin Towers. The observation decks are on the 100th and 102nd floor and the elevator gets you there in only 47 seconds.
So, the next time you want to go out and see New York City from up high for some spectacular views, these buildings will truly take your breath away.
